Akuapem: Student dies at Methodist Girls SHS

A final year student has died at the Methodist Girls Senior High School (MEGHIS) at Mamfe, Akuapem in the Eastern region.

The sad event, according a statement by the Ghana Education Service, occurred on Friday 17th July 2020. Management of the school quickly rushed Cindy AKU SIKA ADDO of General Arts 4A to Tetteh Quarshie Hospital at Mampong on Thursday 16th July 2020 when her friends detected that she was not well.

Her parents were immediately informed and they went to the hospital to see her.

She was later referred to the Koforidua Regional Hospital where she was diagnosed of Acute Malaria. Unfortunately she passed on the next day on Friday 17th July 2020.

GES added that the management “extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and stands with them at this difficult time.”

Police calm protest in KNUST SHS following death of student after alleged neglect over Covid-19 fears

Armed police were brought in on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, to restore order after students of the KNUST Senior High School went on a demonstration over the death of one of their colleagues on campus. They accuse school authorities of leaving the boy, who complained of stomach upset. unattended to for almost three hours in the care of his colleagues due to the fear of  Covid-19. Good news ; Hushpuppi’s lawyer breaks silence on his arrest

The lawyer representing Ramon Abbass, popularly known as Hushpuppi, Gal Pissetzky of Pissetzky and Berliner, has argued that the popular Instagram star is not guilty of the fraud charge brought against him. In an interview with Forbes, the lawyer said the Nigerian has a legal business that he runs which is the source of his income.
